Explore the Great Outdoors at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation: Westchester County's Largest Park 🏑🏑

A Great Park to Visit in Westchester County, NY

If you need a place to visit this winter you should check this out.  During the off-season, it is free to visit.

Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is a 4,315-acre park located in Westchester County, making it the county's largest park. With its varied terrain and landscapes, and miles of wooded trails, the park provides a variety of activities for all seasons. Whether you're looking for a place to picnic, lean-to camp, fish, or cross-country ski, Ward Pound Ridge Reservation has something for everyone.

A quick edit to clarify my video-dogs are welcome at the park, but they must be kept on a leash at all times. The entrance to the park is off Rt 35 in Cross River on Rt 121. The entry fee is $5 with a park pass and $10 without a park pass. The camping fee is $30 with a park pass and $45 without a park pass.

Please note that the park does not have trash cans, so visitors are responsible for taking out their own trash and cleaning up after themselves. Restroom areas are available and accessible throughout the park.

The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including black bears. Visitors are reminded to be bear-aware during the warmer months (March to November) as there are numerous signs within the park informing visitors of this.

The hilly terrain of Ward Pound Ridge Reservation offers a mix of second-growth hardwood forest, hemlock, laurel, bold rock outcroppings, steep ravines, wetlands, and open meadows. However, one thing to be aware of is that it is easy to get lost due to the many interconnecting trails. Although the trails are well marked, the sheer number of trails can lead to confusion.

If you're interested in real estate in Westchester County, please send me a message. Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is a great place to explore and experience the best of nature. Don't miss out on the opportunity to visit this beautiful park.
