You Won't Believe the Stunning Colonial Structures Hidden in This Dog-Friendly Park in South Salem

If you are looking for a Dog-Friendly Day Hike this Winter 2023

Welcome to the Leon Levy Preserve, one of Westchester County's beautiful dog-friendly parks located in South Salem. With over 370 acres of hardwood forest, this park offers a variety of trails for easy to moderate hiking, complete with stunning colonial-era stone walls and structures.

The Trail Map of the preserve

When visiting the preserve, be sure to dress appropriately in sturdy walking or hiking boots as the trails can be muddy. As a responsible pet owner, make sure to keep your dog leashed and pick up after them.

There is no fee to enter the park, but please remember to respect other visitors and wildlife.

In addition to its historical features, the Leon Levy Preserve is also home to a diverse range of wildlife including white-tailed deer, black bears, bobcats, bald eagles, and coyotes. If you're lucky, you may catch a glimpse of some of these amazing creatures during your visit.

To get to the park, take Route 123 south from the intersection with Route 35 and look for the white entrance sign. There is plenty of parking available.

Check out my video of exploring one of the park's structures and consider adding the Leon Levy Preserve to your list of must-visit dog-friendly parks. Happy hiking!
